Slow service, managers standing around. Great place to socialise when working, not so great for customers. Glasses warm, beer not real cold, only 11 people in place, can't be going through a lot of glasses! Great concept & variety of beer, the only reason will try again later. Come on owners get some experience at the bar or a decent manager! I want place to succeed!

Great beer selection, "late night menu" left a lot to be desired. Only flat bread pizza and fries / wings on the post-8:00-menu. Food was alright, but the beer was pretty fantastic.

Plow past the rest of the nearby restaurants in this huge shopping complex and try this place. You can clearly taste how fresh the food is, and every bit is prepared excellently and is just delicious. They offer 150 different beers, soon will add their own on-site brewery, and is a cool place to enjoy a meal or hang out. Another big plus is the service. Our guy RJ did a super job: friendly, attentive and relaxed. Just right! Give this place a whirl. I hope you'll like it!

We went to House of Brewz at Gulf Coast Town Center on a Friday night. The beer selection is good and deserves more stars. The ambiance leaves something to be desired and the food is WAY overpriced. I should have known this place was going to suck when I saw the "s" in the name was replaced with a "z." Not clever and unoriginal! House Of Brew(z) won't last a year. Left and went to WOB at Bell Tower Shopz.....

Definitely won't be coming back to this place. We went there this past Saturday and as soon as we walk in, there's an employee setting up chairs. Literally, his first words were "You can sit wherever, long as it's not here, this place is reserved" and he nudges his chin towards the bar. Awesome greeting, thanks. So, we go sit down in the bar section , and it's literally 20 minutes before the bartender comes over to greet us and take an order, which was especially insulting since multiple employees who looked like management/wait staff walked past us multiple times, making eye contact with us, and not saying anything. The kicker? The place was nearly empty. We had one beer and apps and left, as the beer wasn't anything special. It was actually pretty funny how basic the beers were. I have been to many, many great breweries and many restaurants with great staff, this place is neither of those. Avoid it. Go to Old Soul or FMB instead. The beer's much better, and the staff actually act like they can be bothered to do their jobs.

Stopped here for Bury Me Brewery". Great variety of craft beer. The strawberry and the brown were two of my favorites. They have plenty of other regulars and specialty beers on tap as well. I also enjoyed the margarita flatbread. It was fresh and yummy. Great to share for a snack. Would be best for an official name change Overall it is was good. I will go back when in that area.

Best selection of beers! Love this place! The bartenders are very friendly, knowledgable and they let you try as many as you like, while telling you all about the different varieties. I have not tried the food here yet but from what I've seen it looks great. Favorite beer here is the Purple Haze! Try it

Had a great barrel aged ale from Lexington brewing company and the house Cremation ale is great.

We had a great server. We had a group of 3 and ordered different flights of beer and appetizers, including the calamari, spinach artichoke dip, hot wings. Everything tasted great. The service was excellent and the beer was great. It was a fun time!

Brewz Burger is probably the safest bet. Everything else seems average at best. Soggy fish and chips are no good.

Went to an 8pm comedy show on valentine day as a group of 4. I get that it's probably an extremely busy day but service was extremely slow. After being there for 30 minutes and asking 4 people about our waiter he finally showed up. It than took another 30 minutes to receive our drinks. Drinks were good and food was decent.

Sucks, stay far away. You have been warned. You want details: Server was very nice, but never provided any water. He gave us our appetizers but left the empty and dirty dishes their until the check arrived. Nice to have dirty dishes laid out on the table while you are eating your entree. Food: Everything was horrible. The cook must be a guy who is opening up frozen packages all day and heating and frying. There were 10 of us, so we all had 10 different items. The greased up fries where the only thing j could stomach. The pizza! You can find a better pizza at 7-11 frozen section. The appetizers all tasted so bad, everything had a powder mix taste to it, as the ratio of the Water and mix wasn't done right by our cook. They are big into the apps to all be in a bread bowl to make presentation be a selling point- but it is not. I have seen reviews on here saying they loved it! That's an obvious joke. They must have friends that work there, or just insane in general and enjoying eating slop. Don't go- if you do- your just threw your money away; embarrass yourself if you make the suggestion to go here; will leave hungry. The beers: they are all good because they are not made here.

I dropped into HOB before flying out of town and have to say that there is potential for this to be a great spot. Unfortunately, for this visit it wasn't all that exciting and didn't leave a lasting impression. Enter the lunch hour. One would think it would be crawling with people, but instead it was crawling with fruit flies. They were everywhere which was disgusting and distracting. Sure they're hard to control, but shoot come on now. The entrance was slightly confusing. I came in through the main dining room which was completely empty. I walked outside to make sure they were open and checked the window, sure enough they were so I walked through the maze of tables over to the bar and sat down. There were two bartenders working the separate bars and stocking. It took a minute, but one came over and took my order. While the beer selection is pretty long and great, ranging from locals to other domestic craft brews. The whole time I felt like I was intruding and in the way. Imagine that, a paying customer in the way. I ordered a burger which wasn't anything to write home about and sipped one beer before leaving. I'm sure that this can be a happening place that gets loud, but this visit does not prompt me to come back and find out.

Too expensive. Service is inconsistent. Food is not so good. Let's see if they can improve these points.

Wait staff was nice. Food is expensive for what you get. Awful atmosphere for a comedian, as they leave the lights up. Worst of all, I got home and checked my receipt against my credit card report. They added a dollar to the bill. I don't know if they are skimming an extra dollar on a lot of people, as most people won't check, and of those that do, many don't complain over a dollar, but an extra dollar on every bill would really add up over time. They lost my business.

Updating my review, sadly. We had some friends in town - I am pregnant and was craving their fried mushrooms. We got there to find that they have now added a comedy show, and that the indoor seating has entirely changed. As has their menu - they no longer have fried mushrooms, and you cannot order onion rings when there is a comedy show going on (WHAT?!) Our server was very rude and it took about 15-20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. The server neglected to inform us that the meat could not be ordered anything less cooked than medium, and my husband ended up with a super-cooked prime rib without anyone asking us first if he would rather order something else. My fried fish and chips were soggy, and everything took an eternity to arrive. The busboy we had was excellent and did a much better job than our server. We did end up talking to the (VERY nice) manager, who comped my husband's meal for us and gave us some coupons for "next time." Regrettably, there will not be a next time. Very disappointing.

We went for the comedy show, food, and beer. All of the above were great. The wait staff ...a little slow, but that's to be expected at a place like this in a college town. Owen Benjamin was our comic and so funny we almost forgot to eat. The menu gave us a nice twist from most bar food and was very tasty. My only complaint was they only serve bottles water that you have to pay for...no tap water. Overall good experience

A truly fantastic list of beers, and the bartenders are quite knowledgeable about most of them. I had the Mahi bites and the beer cheese fries, and both were very good. My man had a Reuben sandwich and he said it was excellent. I would definitely go back and try some of the other beers and menu items.

We generally enjoy HOB. Tonight was different. The bartender who also appeared to be the manager ignored the customers. But worse-he was mopping the floor behind the bar and never washed his hands before serving customers. He went from the mop to serving. I mentioned this to the employee and he totally lied, saying he did wash. Everyone makes mistakes but own up to them. We left immediately. If he is there we will leave next time.

This could be a solid 4- or even 5-star review, but when we were there, the service was quite slow for our meal, and the meal itself was pretty forgettable; the fries that came with my burger were obviously Sysco. The beer was good, if a little pricey, and served at the proper temperature (hint: if your beer is supposed to be "ice cold," you're drinking crappy beer. Beer should be at a bit above fridge temperature.). There's potential here, but the slow service kinks need to be worked out.

First off, let's start with the positives. The atmosphere is a nice urban/ industrial setting, definitely geared towards the younger adults. We were seated right away and the hostess was nice. We order coconut shrimp and spinach dip as an appetizer. The shrimp was tasty and spinach the same. As an entree I ordered the Mediterranean pasta. Sausage was nice and firm and the Sriracha /lime sauce was outstanding. Now for the negatives, it took us 2 hours to eat (wasnt many people there and a party of three). Our server was like a deer in the headlights and completely clueless. She was however, nice. We ordered our beers and come to find out, they were out of two of the beers. The bartender suggested a few beers, however he gave her no background and was of no use to us. So she brought some samples and neither of them were closer to the type of beer we originally ordered. We had to ask her if we could order the entrées shortly after that . Then she tried to make up for it by conversing with us, but we wanted to be left alone. Parents did not like their burgers(they are not picky). With a different server it might be a higher rating. But overall a good meal with bad service.

Errrr..... It's funny, if I had been writing this maybe three weeks ago, this would be a 4 star review. They had a great variety of beer and the food was decent. This time around we we're so disappointed. I had talked the place up and been so excited to go back. We sat down and immediately started ordering our favorite beers from our last trip only to find that every single one of them were out of stock. In fact, of the probably 80 beers on the entire side of the menu, they only had 6 in stock. six. At least print out a new beer menu. we spent most of our time there picking out beers only to have our waiter come back and tell us they didn't have it in. Poor guy. everyone's food was blah. I ordered the cheese and beer soup, something I had been looking forward to since last trip. Well when I got the soup it was barely warm at all. I thought about telling the waiter but I already felt so bad for the guy. I regret eating it. I am now sitting with the hot curse of satan in my stomach. I am in so much pain. never again.

We ordered Palo Santo. Flat, turned, crappy. Usually an excellent brew. Service a slim cut above the horrendous Fort Myers World of Beer. And I was so hopeful. Stick to Fort Myers Brewing Company.

Amazing selection of beers, attentive service that made us feel personable. He rang in our more expensive beer as a cocktail so it became cheaper. Food was excellent but order at the bar... It's quicker

Sat down to dinner. Ordered beers and then told they didn't have any food left. Left disappointed and hungry. Two stars only because of the beer.

Went because of their advertised 150 taps....first beer I ordered was out, tried to order another....out again. Ordered 2 appetizers - wings and crab Rangoon. Took about 45 min to get it (place was pretty empty) Couple sat down after us ordered beers and meals (ribs) and they got it 15 min before ours came out. Warm glasses, not so cold beer. Not a place we will go back to.

I came here last Saturday during the day with my husband and I definitely changed my mind about the hearsay with this place. We sat at the bar and had the most helpful bartender take care of us. Rebeca was awesome!!! So attentive, even when she got a little busier throughout the day, the quality of her service didn't change. She knew alot about the beers, knew how to explain them and was very on point with the descriptions when we sampled them. The food she recommended was amazing and everything we asked she never lead us in the wrong direction. I even got up to tell her manager how amazing his bartender was. I am certainly coming back according to her schedule. I even wrote it on her credit slip. The only few things I can say about this place is that they're not making their own beer, however, that's all about licensing. The beer book is a little sloppy and maybe the music could have been a little more lively but I promise Rebeca kept us entertained the entire time we were there. I'm obviously coming back, this place is gradually getting it together!

Most disappointing restaurant in Fort Meyers. They advertised Fajita special steak and chicken, and only had chicken. Then I asked for prime rib and they said they where out. Had to settle for a warm baked potato and prime rib sandwich, asked for more butter, but that took 10 minutes. People I was with ate the fajita special, but all where shorted shells, enough said!!! Waiter not at fault, fire the chef and manager, or better yet call in Robert Irvine for restaurant impossible!!!

Went to house of brews to see Bobby Collins at the Laugh in comedy club. Yes it is bar food, but it is pretty good bar food. You don't get a Rolex by paying for a Timex. Service was good for being done in the middle of the show.

They now carry The Chive's KCCO Black Lager! Excellent source of suds. Don't be surprised if they are out of some. It happens. Maybe in the future they will have a menu updated daily. The tapas aren't your typical Spanish small plates, but more akin to pub appetizers. The service is hit and miss. I've had great service and I've had to track down the server to see exactly WTF. One forgot about us entirely and even said so. We could have walked out on our tab, waived bye, and she would have waived back. Growing pains; I get that. The bartenders seem experienced though, and I know the owner has brought them in from other establishments. If I want a beer, I go here. If I want to try something new, they've always got something I haven't tried yet, although I'm working on narrowing that gap!

Went in on a Friday night to see a comedy show and the venue/service was disappointing. The service was not good, had to go ask for a waitress, other tables around us had the same problem. Food was below average and for a place named "brewhouse" they were out of half the draft beers on the menu. The draft menu looked like a 10 yr old did it...but The comedian was great!

  • Rick N.

This place barely deserves one star. The service is terrible. It took 20 minutes to get a beer on a Friday night because "the bar was a little backed up." Also, the menus are put together with cheap office supplies from Walgreens and look ridiculous. After the beers finally showed up the waitress forgot which was which so she started putting her nose in the glasses in an attempt to sniff out the different styles. Disgusting! This place is dirty and smells like a bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, you have to walk through the kitchen to get to it. That has to be some sort of code violation. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra few minutes to World of Beer.

Great beer selection. If asked on the quality of food I'd give it a solid 4.5. Based on service less than a 1! Waited more than 20 minutes waiting for our first beer with very few patrons at the bar.. Timed service for other beers and average was 10 minutes. No exaggeration. Bartender walked past us twice while we sat at the bar initially, had to flag down anyone with their shirt on to ask for a beer. She flagged bartender down his reply "didn't see you there." Well Sparky, if you weren't watching as much football and doing you damn JOB then you would have seen us. Never go here.

Our every week happy hour. In the past. Since they remodeled and changed most of the area into a comedy club the place has gone down hill.

We went during lunch and at first were the only ones there. We picked out table and promptly got waited on. Wonderful beer selection!! If you are looking for different beers to try, then this is the place. I was not sure which beer I wanted, so I was provided two samples to try, so great option! Food came out fast and hot! My husband loved his pizza! The Crab Rangoon are different, they have a twist made with some curry powder, they were good, but the dipping saw was yummy. My only issue was the wings, I love garlic and it need more of a garlic sauce for me. Overall a very nice fun atmosphere. We will eat there again!

Worst service I have seen in years! Went for Valentines Day. We went in early to avoid the dinner rush and ended up just sitting at the bar. The brewery is not yet up and running, although the web page indicated it is. This was disappointing but understandable. Were told they are still waiting on permits. Ordered a couple of craft beers and the fondue fries appetizer. Beer was good and app was good. Then the service went down hill. The bartender walked by my empty glass 3 time to wait on other customers (They were not real busy but could have used another person behind the bar) We were going to order one of their flatbreads but never got the chance because we simply could NOT get waited on. Even took over 5 minutes to cash us out after she had given us the tab. The food looked good. Too bad the poor service kept us from finding out. Will not soon be back.

So many choice in beer and tapas! I love it. The restaurant and bar setup is cool. The menu choices are endless. Pick a beer, any beer, and then pick another! Service was great. Don't forget to get extra napkins. We haven't had a chance to order dessert but we will be back! :)

Tons of beers on tap. Try the Youngs Double Chocolate, it's like chocolate milk beer. I like the idea of this place- small plates so you can try a little of everything. Service was a tad slow but friendly.

We visited midday and were allowed to choose our own seats: high-top table or booths. We opted for a high top adjacent to the main bar and were handed two menus: one for food and one for beer. I asked if there were any beer specials and was told no. Off the food menu, we ordered the Beer Fondue Fries (steak fries topped with a white cheddar cheese sauce, jalapeno bacon bits and scallions... which were FANTASTIC! We also ordered a couple of microbrews off the beer menu, only to have our waiter return to say they were out of the beer I ordered. With over 250 choices on the menu, that's bound to happen. So I ordered a different microbrew... again, they were out of it. My third selection was in stock, and was served in a cold pilsner glass. Nice. Off the dinner menu, I ordered the Brewz Burger (topped with ham and cheese) with fries and my wife ordered the Filet Philly (a cheesesteak with filet medallions, sauteed onions and peppers, with their signature cheese sauce) and onion rings. While I was pleased with my burger (thick and flavorful), my wife's sandwich was a huge disappointment. The steak tips used were tough, with hardly any flavor (probably not seasoned properly, if at all). When our waiter checked-in with us, we told him that my wife's sandwich wasn't good... which was obvious since she only took two bites out of it. He said he would inform the manager, which we saw him do immediately. However, the manager never came over to us, offer an apology or to make something else for her. With all of the other restaurant options located nearby, we probably won't return.

Good selection of beers if they actually have them. If you are going to market a place like this the beer list needs to be updated daily. Replace this place with a World of Beer. The bartenders were friendly at least...

Great craft ale selection with decent grub. I love that its a mom and pop operation. With a plethora of ales on tap you can't go wrong with this place. It's world of beer with food.; how can you go wrong.?

We tried the restaurant for lunch. The food was good, and the waitress couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. However, the restaurant feels grungy and is dirty. The rest room had no toilet tissue or soap. That just added to the dirty feel.
